HOW TO USE
-
UsageUse on properly prepared exterior surfaces, including bare wood, previously painted wood siding and trim, brick, concrete, cement, stucco, non-rusted galvanized gutters and downspouts. Bare redwood and cedar may require an additional coat to control severe staining areas. DO NOT USE over hardboard siding or gummy pine; use an exterior oil primer for these surfaces.
-
PrepSurface Preparation: Thoroughly clean the surface and allow to dry. Remove all dirt, dust, chalk, rust, grease, wax and mildew. Scrape off loose and peeling paint, sand smooth, then spot prime. Thoroughly remove chalk by vigorous washing, then rinse. Remove gloss from shiny surfaces. Countersink nails and apply an oil-based metal primer to exposed nail heads. Caulk cracks and joints. Bare Wood: Remove sap from knots and sappy areas. Spot prime with a stain-blocking primer before priming entire area with this product. Masonry: Brush loose sand, dust and other material from the surface. Metal: New galvanized surfaces should be allowed to age 6 months before painting. All bare iron and steel surfaces should be primed with a rust-inhibitive metal primer. New Fiber Cement Board: Wash thoroughly and allow to dry before priming. Clean Mildew from the Surface.
-
ApplicationStir thoroughly before and occasionally during use. Apply when air and surface temperatures are between 50 ° - 90 °F (10 ° - 32 °C). Thin only for spray application with up to 8 oz. of water per gallon. Apply a liberal coat of primer uniformly, working well into the surface.
