For added protection and shine, use Venetian Plaster Protective Finish. This 100% acrylic clear finish increases durability and protects Venetian Plaster surfaces from occasional moisture and washing.

Coverage

One quart covers 250-300 sq. ft. (23-28 m²) depending upon application. Do not thin.

Preparing the Surface

Apply to dry Venetian Plaster finish as a final protective topcoat. If sandpaper was used to burnish the finish, be sure to wipe the surface with a soft cloth to remove any residue before applying this product.

Application

Stir thoroughly. Apply the Protective finish with large steel spatula using overlapping strokes. Hold the spatula at a 60-90° angle to spread a thin, even coat completely covering the surface. Remove excess from recessed areas with a spatula or by dabbing with bristles of a paintbrush. A heavy coat of this product can cause a milky appearance. Dry Time

Apply only when surface and air temperatures are 50-90°F (10-32°C). Dries to the touch in 1 hour, longer in high humidity or cool temperatures.

WARNING! If you scrape, sand or remove old paint, you may release lead dust. LEAD IS TOXIC. EXPOSURE TO LEAD DUST CAN CAUSE SERIOUS ILLNESS, SUCH AS BRAIN DAMAGE, ESPECIALLY IN CHILDREN. PREGNANT WOMEN SHOULD ALSO AVOID EXPOSURE. Wear a NIOSH-approved respirator to control lead exposure. Clean up carefully with a HEPA vacuum and a wet mop.
