Tuscan Accents Base Coat is the first step of a two-step process. This special step forms an absorbent base coat under Signature Colors Tuscan Accents to create a two-color finish resembling antique Italian finishes in its unmistakable warmth and character. Use on properly prepared wallboard, plaster, wood, masonry and brick.
One gallon covers approximately 400 sq. ft. (37.2 m²) depending on surface porosity and texture. Do not thin.
For New or Bare Surfaces: New wallboard and plaster should be fully cured and clean. Remove all sanding dust. New walls must be primed with a latex wall primer. For previously Painted Surfaces: All surfaces should be clean and dry and free of peeling and chipping paint. Patch any cracks; sand lightly and remove all sanding dust. Dull glossy surfaces with sandpaper or liquid gloss remover. Remove all sanding dust and wipe with a damp cloth before applying.
Mix thoroughly before and during use. Apply product with a 3/8" or 1/2" nap roller. Roll product in one heavy, full coverage coat, or two thin coats. Finish with long, even strokes in one direction. Allow to dry 24 hours before applying Signature Colors Tuscan Accents.
Apply only when surface and air temperatures are 50-90°F (10-32°C). Dries to the touch in 1 hour. Allow to dry 24 hours before applying Tuscan Accents.
