Beautify your interior ceilings and walls with Valspar Ultra Premium® Interior Latex Acrylic Smooth Texture Paint. This product provides highly textured finish for creating exceptional dramatic effects such as "high peak" stipple or heavy ridge swirl patterns.
One gallon of paint covers approximately 75-125 sq. ft. depending upon texture pattern and surface porosity. Thin only if paint becomes too thick to apply.
Use paint on properly prepared interior wall and ceiling surfaces, including previously painted and properly primed plaster, drywall, wood, metal, cement, brick and masonry. DO NOT USE OVER WALLPAPER.
Before painting, thoroughly clean the surface and allow to dry. Remove wallpaper and loose, peeling paint. Patch cracks and spot prime. Dull glossy surfaces. Remove chalky residue and prime new wallboard with latex wall primer. New plaster and masonry must cure 30 days before priming. Prime bare wood with an acrylic enamel undercoater. Prime ferrous metal with a rust inhibiting oil metal primer. For other metals, use appropriate metal primer. Water stained ceilings or other stained areas must be primed with a latex or oil-base stain block primer to prevent bleed-through. Note: Oil-based primers dry to a hard, slippery surface and must be roughened by sanding to increase texture paint adhesion.
Paint only when surface and air temperatures are 50-90°F. Dries hard overnight and cures fully in one week. Allow texture paint to dry 48 hours before recoating.
Stir paint thoroughly before and during use. Intermix all containers of the same color. If creating a pattern, experiment on heavy cardboard or plywood. Apply a generous coat of texture paint to the surface using a stiff brush, putty knife or trowel. If a pattern is desired, create it first while the texture paint is still wet. Work in 3-foot areas blending patterned areas. May be recoated with interior latex satin or semi-gloss paint for hallways or other surfaces requiring occasional washings to remove household soils.
