Create beautiful faux finish and decorative finishes with this slow drying, metallic glaze. Create stunning metallic and pewter patina effects with this easy to use glaze. Use alone over a base coat or apply over Color Glazes for a multi-dimensional look. Use with the following techniques: Color Washing, Stippling, Dragging, Sponging and Rag Rolling
Additive Techniques: 125-200 sq. ft. (11.6-18.6 m²) Subtractive Techniques: 87.5-100 sq. ft. (8.1-9.3 m²)
Use on clean walls, ceilings, furniture, cabinets and trim. Use above or below a chair rail for dramatic designer effects.
Make sure surfaces are clean, dry and free of peeling paint. Use a primer on new wallboard. Use a base coat of Valspar paint under Metal & Patina Glaze. Allow base coat to dry 4 hours or overnight before applying glazes.
1. Apply the base coat according to label instructions. 2. Apply Metal Glazes as outlined in the Valspar Signature Colors Faux How-to Guide. 3. Protect your decorative finish with Valspar Signature Colors Faux Clear Protector. Allow Metal and Patina Glaze to cure one week before applying clear coating.
This glaze will stay workable for up to 30 minutes. This allows you to work and re-work an area if needed. Avoid drafts from fans, open windows, etc. to prevent premature drying. Surface and air temperatures should be between 55-75°F. Wait 24 hours between coats.
WARNING! If you scrape, sand or remove old paint, you may release lead dust. LEAD IS TOXIC. EXPOSURE TO LEAD DUST CAN CAUSE SERIOUS ILLNESS, SUCH AS BRAIN DAMAGE, ESPECIALLY IN CHILDREN.
