Valspar Interior Latex High Hiding Wall Primer is a premium quality primer formulated with excellent hiding characteristics. Unlike ordinary primers, it can cover most paint colors and surfaces in just one coat while providing an excellent base coat for latex or oil base paints.

Where to use

Use on properly prepared plaster, wallboard, drywall, plywood, wood trim, brick, masonry and cement. Do not use on bare metal or over glazed or glossy surfaces.

Coverage

One gallon of primer covers up to 400 sq. ft. (37.2 m2) depending on surface porosity. Thin only for spray application with up to 8 oz. of water per gallon.

Preparing Your Surfaces

Clean and dry surface thoroughly, removing all dirt, dust, rust, grease and wax. Scrape off loose paint and wallpaper. Plaster cracks and spot prime. Dull glossy surfaces with gloss remover or sandpaper.

If you scrape, sand, or remove old paint, you may release lead dust. LEAD IS TOXIC. EXPOSURE TO LEAD DUST CAN CAUSE SERIOUS ILLNESS, SUCH AS BRAIN DAMAGE, ESPECIALLY IN CHILDREN. PREGNANT WOMEN SHOULD ALSO AVOID EXPOSURE. Wear a NIOSH-approved respirator to control lead exposure. Clean up carefully with a HEPA vacuum and a wet mop.
